Back again!

This blogging idea of mine is not working out too well.  Think maybe I am too lazy.  Anyway, I'm going to try to do better keeping up with this posting.
Don't know why it is so difficult for me to write because I certainly am good at talking.  Talking too much so my husband says.
Today has been a beautiful June day.  So much different from June weather in 2012!  Last year was so hot and dry throughout spring and summer.
We aren't a farm family but we certainly are in farm country!  Across the road from us corn has been planted in a field, our property to the east joins a soybean field , and just 'down the road a little piece'  there is a wheat field.
We built a new porch on the front of our house this year and guess me and pa will sit out there in our adirondack chairs a whittling and watching the corn grow.  Problem is, I've got to learn to whittle and so has pa.
Also, if I had my druthers I would be sitting in my adirondack chair looking at a pretty lake.
Now that I've got my druthers out of the way, I'll get back to what a wonderful day I've had today.
I did some weeding in my flower beds but not enough to amount to make a dent in the weed crop.  May do some more weeding tomorrow or maybe not.  The flowers are doing quite well with all this rain we've been receiving so have not had much watering to do.  Just spend a lot of time admiring and photographing my flowers. "That's a good thing!", so says Martha Stewart....
I spent a lot of time on Facebook, Make the Cut forum, and on Shuttercal today.  So good to keep in touch with friends and family!
I recently bought a new camera so devoted quite a bit of time taking some pictures with it but think I am actually going to have to get the manual out (ugh!) and learn how to use it properly.
I'm going to close this silly ramble and post a couple of pictures I took today.

The first picture is our Martin house sans Martins.  Second picture is actually as it appears, a tractor on top of a silo.  It has lights on it and at night it is very pretty.  Who would have thunk it?
Third picture is our new porch where me and pa will whittle and watch corn grow.
God Bless til we chat again...........

Oh my, My last post was a year ago!

I couldn't believe it has been an entire year since I last posted on my blog.  Thought blogging would be much easier and it might have been if I had stayed with it.  My New Year's Resolutions should have included paying attention to my blog.
Anyway, the past year has been quite eventful for me.
I went back to work part time (again!) in March of 2011.  Don't work many hours a week but needed to get out of the house some since I can become quite the recluse if I'm not working.  Also the extra dollars come in quite handy.

Back again!

Can't believe it has been a year since this blog was started  as well as a year since I last posted.  Where does time go?  Really meant to post often but the procrastination bug surfaced.
Just going to write a little today to get back in the groove.  Will be back tomorrow. Have to go to work now.  Yep, I'm back to working part time again!  Started back in March, 2011.  What was I thinking???????  Anyway, back to this tomorrow with some pics.

Hello again

This is a milestone for me.  The second post to my blog!
I am slowing getting accustomed to this blog stuff  but  have a long way to go.
Sunday night when our weather was somewhat above freezing I became very optimistic about spring being close.  Wrong!
Anyway, I made the card I posted below.  I should have named the card 'Optimism'.  The next day I took a picture of our snowy creek during our snow and ice storm.
I'm not too happy with the way the card turned out and I certainly wasn't happy with the snow and ice.  Since I can't do much about the weather except complain (which I can do quite well) I will have to focus on improving my card-making skills.  So back to working on another card.  I hope it will be better.
Since its a little cool to sit out here in the snow and ice  by the water's edge to chat I will close this until we can meet again.  Hopefully in warmer weather.
Bye for now............

My first Step Along My Blogging Journey

Hi and welcome to my blog.
This is a new experience for me so just come in and sit by the water’s edge with me for a little chat.
I love crafts!  So that will be the whole focus of my blog .  I hope you will bear with me as I travel along from one craft to another.
For the past year I have been mesmerized by paper crafting and this has really been a surprise for me since I never, ever thought I would be interested in papercrafting.  I started out by purchasing a Cricut Expression. I thought it was such a  cute little cutter . I  didn’t use it - couldn’t afford the expensive cartridges.  I had decided to list the cute little, worthless-to-me Expression on Ebay but then I heard about Sure Cuts A Lot software that could replace the expensive cartridges.  Bought the software.  Didn’t use it much but found it was an improvement over the cartridges.  Then I heard about Make-the-Cut software.  Purchased it and oh, how my life changed!  I quickly became a paper crafting addict.  Love that MTC!
For the past few days I have also found that photography is quite fascinating and believe me when I tell you I know absolutely nothing about it but I’m going to try to learn a little.  Probably will learn just enought to be quite annoying to family, friends, blog readers, perfect strangers, etc.
So enough for my first post and here’s hoping I have not bored you but have made you feel welcome on my crafting, blogging, picture taking journey.
